Ising Exponents in the Two-dimensional Site-diluted Ising Model
We study the site-diluted Ising model in two dimensions with Monte Carlo simulations. Using nite-size scaling techniques we compute the critical exponents observing deviations from the pure Ising ones. The diierences can be explained as the eeects of logarithmic corrections, without requiring to change the Universality Class.
متن کاملTwo dimensional fermions in four dimensional YM
Dirac fermions in the fundamental representation of SU(N) live on a two dimensional torus flatly embedded in R4. They interact with a four dimensional SU(N) Yang Mills vector potential preserving a global chiral symmetry at finite N . As the size of the torus in units of 1 ΛSU(N) is varied from small to large, the chiral symmetry gets spontaneously broken in the infinite N limit.
متن کاملMetastability in the Two-Dimensional Ising Model with Free Boundary Conditions
Metastability is observed in many different systems close to a first order phase transition. It is a dynamical phenomenon (see, for instance, [PL]) not included in the Gibbsian formalism, which is so successful for the description of stable equilibrium states [LR, I. The development of a full theory of metastability is desirable for its intrinsic as well as for its experimental and technologica...
متن کاملCorrelation functions, free energies, and magnetizations in the two-dimensional random-field Ising model.
Transfer-matrix methods are used to calculate spin-spin correlation functions (G), Helmholtz free energies (f) and magnetizations (m) in the two-dimensional random-field Ising model close to the zero-field bulk critical temperature T(c 0), on long strips of width L=3-18 sites, for binary field distributions. Analysis of the probability distributions of G for varying spin-spin distances R shows ...
متن کاملTwo-particle wave function in four dimensional Ising model
Calculation of the scattering phase shift is important to understand scatterings and decays of hadrons. The phase shift in I = 2 ππ scattering system [3] was evaluated with the finite volume method [1,2] derived by Lüscher. In the finite volume method two-particle wave function plays an important role, because the phase shift is extracted by the wave function. Study of the wave function was car...
